THE FDNY FIRE FAMILY TRANSPORT FOUNDATION

We are dedicated to helping the Fire Family in its time of need by providing transportation to the families of injured, ill or deceased New York City Firefighters. We are also dedicated to promoting the greater good of the New York City Fire Department.

Every October, we host the Annual Blue Mass for Police Officers and Firefighters.
Every September, we help and support the Annual Father Mychal Judge Walk of Remembrance.

We are indebted to those who made the supreme sacrifice on 9-11-01. We honor them with the creation of Engine 343, which bears the names of the 343 New York City Firefighters, with three bronze plaques affixed to the inside of the hosebed.

The FDNY Fire Family Transport Foundation is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization, supported solely through donations which we use to purchase multi-passenger vehicles. We are a 501 (c)(3) foundation; your donations are tax-deductible.

The FDNY Fire Family Transport Foundation is here for you when you are in need.

These are the three persons who I was speaking with today when 343 went to get PMP (Preventive Maintenance Procedures) at The Rock:

  • Tim Ramos, Director FDNY Satellite Shops Fleet Services at The Rock.
  • Joe Nikifor FDNY Satellite Shops Fleet Services  at The Rock.
  • Sal Giacopery FDNY MECHANIC Fleet Services at The Rock (22 years).

And if it wasn’t for Danny Prince, I would still be waiting at the front gate. Thanks, Dan, for all you do–and I do mean all!

Firefighter Victor Isler Funeral -Rescue Company 1

Members of FDNY Fire Family Transport Foundation salute North Carolina fallen brother, Firefighter Victor Isler of Rescue Company 1 Salisbury, N.C. Fire Department.

March 17th, St. Patrick’s Day, a day of celebration for the Irish, was also the celebration of the life of Victor Isler. Victor was one of two Salisbury, NC firefighters killed in the line of duty on March 7th. We laid him to rest with honors. It all started on Saturday with a procession through Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens and then Long Island. We would like to thank all the companies that came out to pay their respect. FDNY Fire Family Transport Foundation was very proud to be of assistance to our brothers from North Carolina. The Foundation was honored to be able to use Engine 343 as the caisson. Victor is the first firefighter to make his final run on this Engine. Many members of our Foundation were there for the funeral and we would like to thank all those involved with the funeral for doing such a wonderful job:· The Deer Park Fire Department and all its members

· The surrounding Departments: Dix Hills, Wyandanch, East Farmingdale; Farmingdale, North Babylon, and Island Park for all their help and support

· As well as the Fallen Firefighter Foundation of North Carolina and the Terry Farrell Foundation.

To Victor Isler’s family and the Salisbury, NC Fire Department, we know that what you had to endure these last few weeks will last in your memory forever. We want you to know that the FDNY Fire Family Transport Foundation and the FDNY are always here for you. We want to thank you for letting us be such a big part in the funeral.
